10 Simple Stress Busters

  1. shutterstock_36313780Slow down.  What’s the hurry? Really.
  2. Breathe slowly and deeply for 1-3 minutes. Notice your breath throughout the day and deepen it if it has become shallow, or you notice you’re holding your breath.
  3. Say to yourself:  “I am safe.  All is well.”
  4. Remember, EVERYTHING happens for a reason.  There are no accidents. Ask yourself what you can learn from this situation.
  5. Know there is a silver lining in every dark cloud.
  6. Let go of trying to control everything.  Let go and Let God.
  7. Use stop lights and waits in long lines to take a deep breath and relax your shoulders.
  8. Practice patience.
  9. Practice acceptance of all things.  Judging situations as bad or wrong causes stress and suffering.
  10. Laugh often.  Be silly sometimes. Laugh at yourself.
